From August 22-28, 2022, we had the incredible opportunity to be part of an inspiring Erasmus+ project in Prague. Bringing together 49 participants from Latvia, Romania, Portugal, Turkey, Poland, and Czechia, this initiative focused on promoting physical activity, cultural exchange, and youth empowerment.

A Diverse and Engaged Group

The project with reference number 2021-2-CZ01-KA153-YOU-000037930 welcomed young people aged, both experienced and new to youth work. Participants came from various backgrounds, including those actively involved in social responsibility projects and others who had yet to find such opportunities due to limitations. To ensure equal participation, individuals with fewer opportunities were included, and gender balance was carefully maintained.

Throughout the project, diverse activities were implemente to encourage sports, teamwork, and personal growth:

  • Interactive Workshops & Seminars – Participants learned about Erasmus+ opportunities, the history of sports, and the importance of physical activity.

  • Sports & Well-being Activities – From city walks and dodgeball games to relaxation sessions, we encouraged movement and exercise in fun and engaging ways.

  • Cultural Exchange – A vibrant cultural night allowed participants to showcase their heritage and highlight popular sports in their countries.

  • Youthpass Training – To enhance learning outcomes, participants received guidance on Youthpass certification and engaged in self-assessment.

This project left a significant impact on both participants and the broader community. Through social media outreach and interactive discussions, awareness was raised about the importance of physical activity and Erasmus+ opportunities. Participants improved their English communication skills, gained confidence, and developed teamwork abilities. They also learned about sustainability, digital engagement, and the value of volunteering.

By the end of the project, many participants had discovered new sports interests and committed to continuing these habits in their daily lives. Furthermore, organizations involved strengthened their capacity for future collaborations and international networking.

This project was more than just a one-time event—it was a step toward building healthier, more connected, and more active communities. We are grateful for this opportunity and look forward to more initiatives that empower young people to lead positive change!
