In a world where young people face constant challenges, from social pressures to mental health struggles, the risk of substance addiction has become a growing concern. Recognizing this reality, Centrul Pentru Tineret Mileniu is proud to be part of an inspiring European collaboration — the “On the Road to Freedom: Empowerment Against Addiction” project (Ref. No: 2024-1-TR01-KA210-YOU-000250976).

This Erasmus+ KA210-YOU project unites three organizations from Türkiye, Hungary, and Romania, each sharing a common vision: to protect and empower young people by providing knowledge, emotional support, and meaningful opportunities for growth.

A Cross-Border Effort for a Healthier Future

The “On the Road to Freedom” project was born from the belief that prevention begins with awareness and empowerment. Rather than simply warning against addiction, it focuses on giving young people the skills and confidence to make healthy, conscious decisions.

Our partnership includes:

Toprak Çocuk Eğitim ve Dayanışma Derneği (Türkiye) – Project coordinator and lead organization,

FAKTOR a Jövő Közösségéért Egészségügyi és Sportegyesület (Hungary) – Expert in community health and youth engagement,

Centrul Pentru Tineret Mileniu (Romania) – Promoting education, personal development, and community involvement among youth.

Together, we aim to strengthen emotional intelligence, improve self-esteem, and promote alternative activities that keep young people active, connected, and resilient.

Our Role and Our Mission

As the Romanian partner, Centrul Pentru Tineret Mileniu takes pride in contributing to the educational and community dimensions of the project.

We work directly with youth workers, volunteers, and educators to spread knowledge and inspire action at the local level.

Our key contributions include:

Organizing training sessions and awareness workshops for young people and community leaders.

Supporting the creation of the Freedom Against Addiction mobile app, which provides information, self-help tools, and guidance.

Facilitating interactive discussions on emotional well-being, risk prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices.

Encouraging peer-to-peer learning and active participation within communities.

For us, the project is not just about fighting addiction — it is about helping young people discover their strength, voice, and purpose.

Creating Lasting Impact

Throughout its implementation, the project promotes international cooperation through mobility programs, digital tools, and cultural exchange.

From workshops in Budapest to community activities in Turkey and Romania, every event builds a shared understanding of how addiction prevention can be effective and inclusive.

The impact goes beyond numbers.

We’ve seen young participants develop self-awareness, gain leadership skills, and form meaningful cross-cultural friendships.

Most importantly, they are becoming advocates for change — spreading the message of empowerment in their own schools, cities, and networks.

Looking Ahead

As we continue our journey, Centrul Pentru Tineret Mileniu remains committed to strengthening youth resilience and promoting education as a tool for prevention.

We believe that by working together — across borders, cultures, and generations — we can build a future where freedom means being informed, confident, and addiction-free.

Because the road to freedom is not one we walk alone — it’s a path we build together.
