Our Partner Project: An International Youth Project

Don't get addicted to drugs and become detached from life! project with reference number 2023-2-TR01-KA153-YOU-000168035, which took place in Antalya between 22-29 October, drew attention to the issue of substance addiction with the participation of youth workers from seven different countries. During the project we partnered with, seminars, panel discussions and documentary screenings were held on the role of sports in the fight against addiction, symptoms and treatment methods of addiction.

Project Activities

Throughout the program, participants engaged in various activities to enhance their understanding and spread awareness:

• A panel discussion on substance abuse, featuring research and presentations by youth workers.

• A poster design activity to support dissemination efforts.

• A seminar on sports and health, emphasizing physical activity as a preventive measure against addiction.

• A documentary screening and discussion to provide deeper insights into addiction.

• A survey study involving local people to assess public knowledge and raise awareness.

• An informational event introducing sports activities for youth engagement.

Surveys conducted with local people revealed the need to raise awareness on substance addiction. Participants were encouraged to take the knowledge they learnt back to their local communities and raise awareness on addiction.

In addition to teaching youth workers effective methods to combat addiction, the project also strengthened the culture of volunteering and co-operation. Participants gained the necessary motivation to create change in their communities.

Project Impact

The project successfully increased awareness about substance addiction, its symptoms, and withdrawal effects. Participants gained knowledge on how to support young people struggling with addiction and explored effective prevention methods, such as sports and hobbies. The initiative also highlighted the role of institutions in offering help and encouraged cooperation among volunteers and organizations.

By addressing this pressing issue, we contributed to a more informed and conscious society, emphasizing the need for collective action in the fight against substance addiction.
